Support the Scally Rally!  We are driving a 1000 mile route from St Omer (coincidentally birthplace of 16 and 41 Sqns!!) to Rimini in Italy via the Alps in a £100 ‘banger’.

We have a total team of 5/6 RAF Officers and a civilian friend from Hong Kong involved in the support and running of our event – we are doing this in our own time (ie on leave and not as a RAF Duty).  There will be 3 of us driving the car (2 RAF and the guy from Hong Kong).

We leave on 11 Sep and arrive in Rimini on 15 Sep. No worries, no breakdowns, no arguments, 1000 miles later – hopefully a large amount of charity cash better off.

We are raising money for the MS Centre in Aylesbury and the PACE Centre (specialised local school for children with cerebral palsy) – these 2 charities are / have supported family members of our team and therefore, we wish to support them.

We have bought the car and one of our team members has asked a ‘favour’ from a RAF colleague to get it decorated ready for the Rally.  We have a Wacky Races theme and RAF Coningsby painters have kindly given their time to paint (using paint given to us by a local company) the car.  Also, a couple of mechanics have given their spare time to have a quick look at the car and repair a cooling pipe (we have paid for the pipe through a civilian car parts source.
