What a busy weekend. We couldn’t work in the garden because of the new lawn, and the horrendous rain, so we set about turning the back bedroom from a bit of a dorm to a nice place for mum to stay.

One of the single beds was removed and replaced with a big leather Lay-z-boy electric recliner, a new TV/DVD was put up on the wall with its own aerial (loft mounted, signal strength here is rubbish) and all the light fittings, lamps, bedding and curtains got changed, plus we added a black-out blind as the sun rises off in that direction.

Now I have another mass of cardboard boxes to take to the tip for recycling and a pile of old stuff to try and get rid of (5-DVD player, VHS and Sky+ box).

Still on the look-out for some stuff to finish the room off but it is looking good …

As usual, we were able to listen to T4 on the beach going on just a couple of streets away – boy they must have got wet!!
