Former I’m A Celebrity winner and West End star to join cast of Wicked

Wicked tickets LondonThe hit musical Wicked will be welcoming new cast members, Gina Beck and Matt Willis to the show from 12 December 2011.

Gina Beck will be taking on the role of Glinda, while Matt Willis will grace the stage as Fiyero. Other cast changes include a return to the show for Desmond Barrit, who will reprise his role as The Wizard, Lillie Flynn is to play Nessarose, Christopher Howell to star as Doctor Dillamond and Adam Pettigrew as Boq. Rachel Tucker will keep her leading role as Elphaba, as will Julie Legrand as Madame Morrible.

Matt Willis is probably best known for being one third of the chart-topping band, Busted. After winning I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! in 2006, Matt went on to make several TV appearances after which he made his West End debut starring as Nick Hurley in Flashdance. Most recently, Matt has played the role of Chuck in the UK tour of Footloose.

Gina Beck is no stranger to the razzle dazzle of the West End stage having recently finished a two year stint starring as Christine Daae in The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London. Gina made her West End debut five years ago as Cosette in Les Miserables. She is currently on stage at the Southwark Playhouse starring in The Belle’s Stratagem.

Wicked opened on 27 September 2006 at the Apollo Victoria theatre in London. The show is based on the novel by Gregory Maguire and the book by Winnie Holzman. The music and lyrics are by Stephen Schwartz and the show is directed by Joe Mantello.
