The West End is Pants – to show it cares!

London’s Cafe de Paris will be taken over this weekend for a fund-raiser to be hosted by Gok Wan. In a bid to help tackle poverty in the UK and Africa, the charity The Make a Difference Trust will be the beneficiaries of monies raised when West End stars get their kit off at two charity events on Sunday evening.

The event, West End Bares, involves over 100 of theatreland’s finest and is billed as a night of fun, flesh and fashion!  As part of the evening, all the main West End shows have been asked to customise a pair of boxer shorts for the Pants Project and the themed pants have been decorated and signed to reflect each of the shows from Shrek to Les Mis to Phantom and Legally Blonde. Signatures include Amanda Holden, Nigel Lindsay, Michael Crawford and Sarah Lancashire. After being shown off on the catwalk the underwear will be auctioned on eBay over the 10 days period starting 5th Sept.

Sunday night’s extravaganza (showings at 21:30 and midnight) will be co-hosted by Sheridan Smith and an array of celebrity guests will appear in support including; Matt Lucas, currently starring in Les Miserables; Denise Welch, star of comedy hit Benidorm, Dancing on Ice’s  Matt Evers, chat show host Paul O’ Grady, John Partridge and Natalie Casey.
