London to bid farewell to Legally Blonde The Musical

Legally Blonde, The MusicalThe extremely pink show, based on the popular American film of the same name, opened at the Savoy Theatre on 13 January 2010 to largely positive reviews. The cast was originally led by British actress Sheridan Smith and pop star Duncan James. Other notable cast members over the production’s duration include: Jill Halfpenny, Alex Gaumond, Richard Fleeshman, Denise Van Outen and Lee Mead.

The musical follows the story of Elle Woods, a popular girl whose boyfriend dumps her for someone more ‘serious’. In an attempt to win him back, she studies hard and gets accepted to Harvard law School where she learns that being true to yourself will never go out of style.

With music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin, book by Heather Hach and orchestrations by Christopher Jahnke, the show is directed & choreographed by Jerry Mitchell, designed by David Rockwell, costumes by Gregg Barnes, lighting by Kenneth Posner and Paul Miller, sound by ACME Sound Partners.

Legally Blonde The Musical is produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, Robert G Bartner, Ambassador Theatre Group and Jamie Hendry Productions.

Legally Blonde, the tour, is still on the road till at least August of this year with visits to Aylesbury, Liverpool, Sheffield, Norwich, Brighton, Belfast, Woking, Aberdeen, Canterbury, Southampton, Bradford, Milton Keynes and Cardiff.
