Phantom star to return to Les Mis this November

Les Miserables tickets, deals and offersLes Miserables has announced that from 29 November 2011 West End star Ramin Karimloo will take over the lead role of Jean Valjean.

Ramin is well acquainted with the West End stage, until recently, he has played the coveted role of The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera and reprised the part for the 25th anniversary celebrations at the Royal Albert Hall in October. He also originated the role of The Phantom in Lloyd Webber’s Phantom sequel Love Never Dies.

Karimloo is also no stranger to Les Miserables, having previously portrayed the character of Enjorlras in the West End production of the show and at the anniversary celebrations at The O2 arena.

Ramin’s West End recordings include the premiere symphonic recording of “The Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall” and “Love Never Dies”. Ramin has recently signed with Sony and is currently recording his first solo album.

Les Miserables is directed by Trevor Nunn and John Caird. The current cast includes Alfie Boe as Jean Valjean ( to 26 Nov 2011), Hadley Fraser as Javert, Caroline Sheen as Fantine, Alexia Khadime plays Eponine, Craig Mather portrays Marius and Lisa-Anne Wood as Cosette.

It is currently thought that Ramin will also take the lead role in a new musical about Houdini coming to the West End in 2012.
