Priscilla to grace London stage for the last time in December as show announces its closing dates

Priscilla ticketsThe award winning West End show, Priscilla Queen of the Desert will be bidding farewell to London when the show closes at the end of December.

The musical has been wowing audiences with its humour, extravagant costumes and brilliant disco classics at the Palace theatre since March 2009. The show celebrated its milestone 1,000th London performance last weekend.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert is the stage adaptation of the successful 1994 Australian comedy film ‘The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert’ starring Hugo Weaving, Guy Pearce and Terence Stamp.  The story follows two drag queens and a transsexual as they make a road trip across the Australian outback.

A number of stars will return to the show in its final months, most notably is the return of Home And Away legend, Ray Meagher, who will be reprising his role as Bob the mechanic. Original lead, Oliver Thornton plays Adam (Felicia), Bernadette is played by Don Gallagher and Aussie soap star, Richard Grieve will continue in his role as Tick (Mitzi).

The final few months of the show will be directed by Simon Phillips and produced by Allan Scott. Stephen Murphy will continue to oversee Musical Supervision, Arrangements and Orchestration.

It is yet to be announced what will replace Priscilla Queen Of The Desert at the Palace theatre London.
