Darius Campbell (formally known as Darius Danesh) will return to the West End stage next month to star opposite Ugly Betty’s America Ferrera in the hit show, Chicago.
The former Pop Idol and Pop Stars contestant will reprise his role as scheming lawyer Billy Flynn, a role he first took on in 2006, which made him the youngest actor ever to portray the character of Flynn.
After gaining much popularity on ITV’s hit talent shows, Darius went on to become a successful recording artist scoring numerous top ten hits and a platinum selling album. His most recent appearance on the small screen was as the winning celebrity on Popstar To Opera Star. His West End stage career boasts two stints in Chicago, the London
production of Guys And Dolls and the male lead in Gone With The Wind.
Darius and America will be joined on stage by Amra-Faye Wright, Jasna Ivir, James Doherty and R. Whitehead from 7 November at the Garrick Theatre in London.
Chicago is the multi award winning musical about murderous showgirls, fame and media corruption and is directed for the stage by Walter Bobbie. The show will celebrate its 14th year in London’s West End this November after its move to the Garrick Theatre.
