Day 2 – Roscoff to Gouex
A long day driving through France – 369 miles. The day started slowly as we were put in the slowest customs lane of all so didn’t even leave the ferry port until 7:25 when we had planned on leaving by 7. Raining and 17 degrees so a bit like the UK!
Curiously, whilst waiting for customs we set up Google maps to take us to the first charge point – it reckoned over 14 hours! Worked out why, it wanted us to get back on the ferry, go to UK, back on the ferry to Roscoff as it couldn’t work out where to turn left!
First charge was in Moreac and the planner had said we’d get there with 41%, we actually arrived with 46%. While we had a coffee the charger brought it up to 84% in 38 minutes. The charger was easy to use and just off the main road so our first French charge was a success and much cheaper than the UK at 0.69 Euro per KW.
Another long drive to our second stop, planned arrival 42%, actual arrival 45%. Fast charger brought us up to 92% whilst we had a sandwich and another coffee. We arrived at our third charge with 51% instead of the planned 43% and brought the car back up to 93% whilst browsing in the shop!
We arrived in Gouex for an excellent (if rather drunken) night with friends – car put to bed at 46%!
Chargers seem to be easy to find on the main roads, cheap and available.
