Day 9 – A Day in Sorrento
A sunny and calm day so we drove down to the centre of Sorrento. It takes 0% of the car to go down the hill and 3% to come up so we started with 83% and got down there the same. Parking is difficult here, as in the rest of Italy, so we decided to park on a slow charger as they should be free. The charge point was not where Chargemap said it was, but was in the gated car park behind a hotel – which was friendly and let us in. The Chargemap card did not work on this point (Enel X) after several attempts so we had to download and register with the Enel app, it worked fine then and we started it charging – the Hotel said we could stay as long as we needed so we set off – free parking and a charge, brilliant!
Walking in to town we spotted an on-street fast charger but it was still wrapped in bubblewrap so we suspect that will go live soon.

Coffe and a cake, walk through the town, bit of shopping and lunch. Very hot and the town is full of guided tours from the cruise ships that stop off here – as are the main area restaurants. The old streets seem much nicer, calm, cool and interesting.
Back to our apartment to cool off and eat on the balcony. The charge went up to 100% so we got back up teh hill at 97% which is excellent – a large grass hopper hitched a lift on our wing mirror. Watching the sun set over the Amalfi coast from our balcony, eating local cheese, meat and bread, drinking local wine and listening to Madam Butterfly … pretty wonderful.
