A while back I designed a bead to hold some of Orlando’s ashes, I always had in mind to make some more for different purposes and finally got around to making one to commemorate Karen, my best friend who died of cancer in 2012. Well, I finally did it.

Based on the Orlando Bead, this one has a heart on the lid as well and contains fragments of hair from the lock her husband gave me on her death. She has joined Orlando on my bracelet and is now with me all the time, they are both always in my heart but now I carry a physical reminder that I can touch too. My Mother , meanwhile, is remembered through the ruby I always wear around my neck … her ashes are still in the dining room 😉
